Basically, a musical ornamentation. It's a bit like when you order something in a restaurant and it comes with a little sprig of parsley and, perhaps, a toothpick.
It always looks very pretty
Useless... but pretty
If you, like me, play an instrument, then you'll know that few people actually play a grace note. It kind of just sits there. You're so focused on actually completing the piece that there is no way you'll stop to include an unnecessary note. You just thank your lucky stars it's optional and move on.
My blog is called GraceNotes because, in case you didn't know, my name is Grace and these are my notes (pretty self-explanatory). They are pretty random little ideas that serve no real purpose, as far as I can tell.
Take them, if you will, as your own little sprigs of parsley, that have no real nutritional (or, in this case, educational) value but give you something to chew on.
